Importing pledges
To import pledges from an external crowdfunding campaign to the pledge manager on Indiegogo, click the tool button in the top right corner and choose the project you want to manage from the menu on the left.
Then, go to "Orders" at the top and click "Import pledges":
You'll see a window with further instructions:
When importing pledges, you can mark backers as "Original backer", meaning that these are users imported from an external crowdfunding platform. Marking them as "Late pledger" means you want to include them in the same group as rest of late pledgers that will come to your project organically. You can later filter them easily in Users->User list:
Or choose a recipient group when sending updates:
NOTE: We recommend leaving the "Default" user group for late backers, as this is where anyone who organically comes to your page and pledges is placed by the system. Creating a separate group for original backers makes it easier to manage all users later. More details about creating user groups can be found here.
Importing Pledges - Creating an Import File
Note: To import pledges from Kickstarter, you can use the Kickstarter file, but you need to remove some rows as shown in our example file.
You can download the example file to see what the list should look like to avoid any problems when importing. The Excel file has to include the following:
Backer number (optional) - The number of backers based on when they pledged during the campaign.
Backer name (required) - Should be the full name of the backer without any numbers or special characters ($, %, ^, etc.).
Email (required) - The email address of the user.
Note: If a backer used a Private Relay Apple ID email to back your campaign, please replace this email address with their real email address. Otherwise, their pledge will not be associated with the correct email, and they won't be able to access the Pledge Manager. More details here.
Reward title (required) - the name of the reward, should be exactly the same as in your original campaign.
Bonus support (optional) - the extra amount (tip) added by the backer for the creator.
Pledge amount (required) - the amount pledged to the project; with currency symbol or ISO code.
Pledged status (required) - only pledges with the 'collected' status will be imported to IGG, this information is required.
Notes (optional) - a comment to the pledge, will be visible only to the creator.
[Addon#1] Addon name (optional) - Leave the "[Addon #1]" with a number (so that the next add-on columns are titled [Addon #2], [Addon #3], etc.) and add-on name outside the square brackets.
Click "Validate" to allow the system to check the import file for any mistakes. If everything is correct, you can click "Import" to confirm importing the pledges:
Once you have imported pledges, you can remove them in bulk if you wish to redo the process, as long as they have not been edited in the system and the project has not yet launched:
