Manage Your Privacy Settings

Privacy settings help you choose how Indiegogo can use tracking technologies.

Some tracking is required for the platform to work. These settings are always on and can’t be changed if you want to use the platform. For example, we need essential tracking to keep you signed in, protect your account, remember your cart, and support secure checkout.

Other types of tracking help us improve the platform, remember your preferences, or show you more relevant content. You can manage these choices in your privacy settings.

The available options may depend on your location and local privacy laws.

Indiegogo privacy settings

On Indiegogo, privacy settings appear in a dialog. The dialog lets you choose which tracking types you want to allow.

When you first visit Indiegogo, you may see a privacy dialog titled What can we use data for?

How your location affects privacy settings

Privacy rules vary by location.

In some regions, optional tracking stays off until you choose to allow it. In other regions, some tracking may be on by default, but you can opt out.

You can change your privacy settings when the platform gives you that option. When you update your choices, the platform saves the new settings and applies them to future tracking.

Change privacy settings on Indiegogo

  1. Open Indiegogo’s Privacy Settings.
  2. In the privacy dialog, review the available tracking options.

Note: Essential tracking is on by default. This setting is required.

  3. To see the optional tracking types, go to More choices.
  4. Select the optional tracking types you want to allow:
    • Functional tracking
    • Analytic tracking
    • Advertising tracking
  5. Confirm your choices in the dialog.

Indiegogo saves your choices and applies them to future tracking.

What happens after you change settings on Indiegogo

Indiegogo uses your saved choices to decide which optional tracking technologies can run.

Essential tracking stays on because Indiegogo needs it for security, login, checkout, and basic platform functions.

Optional tracking follows the choices you make in the privacy dialog.

Change your mind later

You can update your privacy settings later when the platform gives you access to those settings.

When you change your choices, the platform updates your saved preferences. Your new choices apply from that point forward.
