Gift Cards for Backers

Gift Cards give you a balance that you can use to pay for eligible pledges on Indiegogo. A creator can assign a Gift Card directly to your account, for example, as a reward, compensation, or special offer.

What Gift Cards are

A Gift Card is a balance connected to your Indiegogo account. It isn't a discount code, so you don't need to enter a code at checkout.

There are two types of Gift Cards:

  • Project Gift Card: Works only for the project specified by the creator.
  • Creator Gift Card: Works for eligible projects from the same creator that use the same currency as the Gift Card.

Each Gift Card has its own value and available balance. The creator may also include a message explaining why you received it.

Indiegogo applies a Gift Card only after you select it at checkout. If you use only part of the balance, the remaining amount stays on the Gift Card until you use it again or it is revoked.

Find your Gift Cards

View your Gift Cards and available balances in Backer Center.

  1. Sign in to Indiegogo.
  2. Open your account menu.
  3. Select Your Gift Cards.
  4. Expand a project or creator group to view its Gift Cards.

Each Gift Card shows its name, balance, and status. You can also view its message and transaction history.

Use a Gift Card

Apply an eligible Gift Card when you check out.

  1. Open an eligible project and continue to checkout.
  2. Select the Gift Card you want to use.
  3. Apply the Gift Card to your pledge.
  4. Review the amount left to pay.
  5. Complete checkout.

If the Gift Card balance is lower than the checkout amount, pay the remaining amount with another available payment method. If the balance is higher, you can use the remaining balance for another eligible pledge.
