Project detailed description

When you create a project, you need to add and edit the project page. To do this, go to Project settings->Project Details->Detailed description.

Since every crowdfunding project on Indiegogo is divided into a few stages - draft (preview), crowdfunding, and late pledge/pledge manager - the interface in Detailed description reflects that:

A few important points regarding editing the project page in the Detailed Description editor:

  • Depending on the project stage, some sections need to be filled in and are published automatically.
  • Each newly created section is unpublished by default.
  • Each stage of the project can have different sections.

NOTE: Publishing a section created within the specific stage will not make it visible to the users before the said stage is active. For example, if you publish the sections in the "crowdfunding campaign" tab while the campaign is in the draft stage, these sections will become visible only after the launch of the crowdfunding stage.

The detailed description has a few sections added by default:

  • In the crowdfunding draft (preview page): project story and rewards section (which includes add-ons and stretch goals; it is unpublished by default)
  • In the crowdfunding campaign: project story, rewards section, risks and challenges, refunds and cancellation
  • In the pledge manager: project story, rewards section, refunds and cancellation

In every stage, you can add more sections that will appear in the project menu on the left side of the project page:

Adding animations and videos

You can upload your own MP4/WebM animations (maximum size: 20MB) by clicking the camera icon:

Important: For the best display on mobile browsers, maintain reasonable video proportions. Videos that are too tall may not be displayed correctly. Based on our experience, a maximum ratio of 1:3 works well for mobile viewing. The recommended minimum width for a video embedded in a project description is 840px.

You can also add embedded videos (but not playlists) by clicking the YouTube miniature icon and adding the video URL:

Adding images

To add an image, click the image icon and choose what you want to upload from your computer:

Note: All uploaded image files are converted to .webp format. The recommended image width is 840 px or more (maximum 1200px). Maximum height is 12000px. Maximum weight is 20mb due to format conversion.

Adding sections

To add a new section, click "add section" at the top or bottom of the page:

You can name the section however you want, and the section header will be displayed on the navigation list. You can also change its position by clicking the three-dot button on the right:

You can't delete required sections, but you can move and unpublish them. Unpublished sections have a yellow frame. Once you publish them, the frame will change its color to gray.
